A powerful feature of Simplicity Pro is the section locking and web site password protection facility. This enables you to restrict visitors’ access to any section of your site, unless they register and sign in. And it couldn’t be simpler to use – just click on the padlock icon.

When visitors register, an encrypted password is automatically sent to their e-mail address – and even more importantly, you automatically receive e-mail notification of new user sign-ups or changes in user details, keeping your valuable database right up to date.

For instance, a Dutch multinational user of Simplicity has used the web site password protection feature to build a registered-user-only section that is dedicated to market prices. Updated weekly, it has enabled the building of a 1000-strong database of users, whose movements through the site can be tracked in real time, using the Simplicity Stats feature.

Available for Enterprise only, the advanced section locking feature introduces a permissions-based system, allowing you to further refine the restriction of visitor access to selected sections of your site.

With Simplicity Pro, a single password enables a registered user to access all areas, but with Enterprise, you can add further layers of security, so that, for example, certain sections will be accessible only to your clients.

The Enterprise version of Simplicity will introduce a permission-based access system for site administrators, restricting the ability to update the site to authorised users only.

These users can be permitted to update and publish the areas of the site for which they are responsible, or, by using the workflow & approvals system (see below) they can pass the updated version to the administrator for publication. For added security, all log-ins can be tracked and recorded.
